Oooo!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 2400 \/ 1080;\" width=\"2400\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.nigelcreaser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250801_234542.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last night&#8217;s #microadventure started as a game of catch in the garden with my youngest, but as it was late and we could not find the ball so we sat in the garden looking at the stars and chatting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We became annoyed my the house security light washing out the dark sky so she set about  fashioning a cover for the PIR to stop it coming on ( I have been complicating th esolution to this problem for some time, rerouting the power to have a switch in side or rigging a home automation solution, seems a tesco bag folded several times and hung over it is simpler and cheaper).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then she asked could we have a fire, it was about 10pm and my initial thought was no, it&#8217;s a bit late now.  However I pivoted because we had been plannign a couple of nights capming this weekend which had fallen through and the big fun bit is having a fire in our opinion so we set about scavenging the garden and logs for the logs for the log burner and fired up the firepit. She sawed some wood with my pen knife, if a little impatiently.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:33% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"614\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nigelcreaser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/ghoper-20250802_000314-scaled-e1754124755750.jpg?resize=614%2C563&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-741 size-full\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nigelcreaser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/ghoper-20250802_000314-scaled-e1754124755750.jpg?w=614&amp;ssl=1 614w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nigelcreaser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/ghoper-20250802_000314-scaled-e1754124755750.jpg?resize=300%2C275&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nigelcreaser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/ghoper-20250802_000314-scaled-e1754124755750.jpg?resize=600%2C550&amp;ssl=1 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We sat for a few hours listen to some foxes shouting in the distant, hearing noises we never hear in the house until I suddnenly felt a big &#8220;something&#8221; on my leg.<br><br>Grabbed my phone as saw this, assume it is a grassphopper, did not even know we had them in our garden!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fire continued to burn as we sat, sometimes chatting but staring at the fire mainly, we agreed it is more entertaining than the telly as not two fires are ever the same and mused why the flames were different colours.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We toyed with the idea of sleep out that night but the noise and waking up of the rest of the house to grab sleeping bags meant we will have to do it another time.
